Sitecore Stream for PDXP – Page Translation, Roles and more improvements in v.1.5.89

Sitecore has released the new version of Stream for PDXP, v1.5.89.

This is a big release that has a brand new feature – Page Translation that automatically discovers and translates a page item along with any Sitecore items it referenced.

Also, Item translation get enhancements – when item translation occurs, fields that are not supported for translation will carry over their values to the new version of the item alongside the translated content.

Now you can assign specific AI roles to your user, where every role corresponds to a specific feature.

Prompt Engineering

What’s the prompt? It’s simply a question or instruction. A prompt is the art of communicating with AI models to get a desired output. The clearer and more detailed the prompt, the better the response. The more specific and thorough you are, the more accurately the task will be completed.

Prompt requires 3 things:

  1. Context – the material to be worked on.
  2. Role – you and your role (who you are and what you do).
  3. Expectation – the desired material to be generated.

Example of crafting promps:

  1. Okay:
    • “Can you help me understand the current trends in global markets?”
  2. Better (+context and role):
    • “I am a Business Analyst at Abc Co exploring global market trends. Can you help me understand the key trends across industries and regions?”
  3. Best (+expectation):
    • “I am a Business Analyst at Abc Co exploring global market trends. Can you help me understand the major trends impacting global markets, focusing specifically on how technological advancements and geopolitical shifts are influencing vatius industries? Please highlight the key trends, assess their potential risks, and identify any challenges organizations might face in adapting their strategies to these changes.“

Sitecore Stream for PDXP – Media Metadata Extraction

Sitecore just released a new version of the Stream module for PDXP. Now, the package is available for download, and it is version 1.4.54.

Now Stream can work in Sitecore Media Library and can assist in getting metadata for images like Title, Description, Alt Text, and Keywords within seconds.

The supported file extensions are .jpg, .jpeg, .png, and .webp (the .webp support out of the box in Sitecore is since version 10.4, but if you need to use in lower versions, follow this guide).

How to try the Media Metadata Extraction

  • Upload or select an existing image in Media Library. As an example let’s use the next image:
  • If the file extension is supported, you’ll find under the Media tab the Extract button.

Sitecore .webp images support

The .webp media in Sitecore has been supported since version 10.4. But if you need to add support for lower versions, follow the next steps:

  1. Under the master database add webp items under the next pathes (can be cloned from jpeg item and then adjusted):
/sitecore/templates/System/Media/Unversioned/webP
/sitecore/templates/System/Media/Versioned/webP

2. In Sitecore.config a new media type should be added:

Sitecore Stream for PDXP – Content Extraction

In the new release, Sitecore introduced a brand-new feature – Content Extraction that can help extract data from various input sources, including files, URLs, or plain text. The latest package is version 1.3.23.

In my demo I’ll have 2 parts: preparation and execution.

Preparation

Let’s say we have a store of Powerful bars/gels, there can be lots of different products with different flavors, usage, package sizes, and so on. Hence for this kind of items (products) a template is needed:

Then we need a document, as for now it’s supported the next file formats: PDF, TXT, JPG, JPEG, PNG.

As an example, please refer to the following screenshot; in my case, it’s a PDF document. In real life, you might have a multipage document, but just be aware that the limit is 3MB and the maximum number of pages should be up to 30.

Sitecore Stream for PDXP – Site Item Translation

Sitecore just released a new version of the Stream module for PDXP. Now, the package is available for download, and it is version 1.2.45.

(to download the latest version, open the Stream app in the Sitecore Cloud, and under the Helpful Links, click the Sitecore Stream for Platform DXP)

The main feature in this release is Site Item Translation. You can use this feature to create or update language versions of site items directly in the Content Editor.

The feature supports the 3 types of fields:

  1. Single-Line Text.
  2. Multi-Line Text.
  3. Rich Text.

Now, when you navigate to the item that doesn’t have a version in a particular language (e.g., French), you will see the new message – Add a new version with Stream Translate:

In the new dialog, you’ll see a list of the fields that are available for translation. Select all fields or only the necessary ones.

Sitecore Stream for Platform DXP March Update 2025

Last month Sitecore released the Sitecore Stream for PDXP, and today the new update is available and it’s highly recommended for update because it simplifies installation and brings various bug fixes and UX improvements. Follow the official documentation to learn more.

The release including:

  • Bug Fixes: addressed minor issues to enhance overall stability and performance.

You can use prompts to work with the original content, for example, ask to remove tags, translate, or anything else.
